Alex Potter

With a background in media, marketing and branding, Alex manages the communications and marketing side of What She Said, as well as the audio, film/photography and technical aspects of the show.

She holds an Honours degree with distinction in Media and Politics from UNSW and was a recipient of the Dean's Leadership Award in her graduating year.

She was one of the three 2014 winners of the Kill Your Darlings + Copyright Agency investigative journalism mentorships, writing a 15,000 word essay on alcohol-related violence in Sydney and the NSW government response. She has completed courses at AFTRS in writing, production and directing, as well as training for broadcast with the ABC and UTS.

She is currently the Production Manager and Screenwriter for a London-based film company, and a freelance Content Creator at the BBC. She has previously worked as a Media and Digital Communications Manager in the not-for-profit sector, and as the Chief Editor at a magazine publishing house.

Prior to media, she studied Forensic Science and Applied Chemistry and is still waiting for her HECS debt to be made worthwhile when a trivia night gives her the winning prize for reciting the first 20 elements of the Periodic Table from memory.
